NEWS UPDATE

Just a reminder that Dues are coming due for the 2012 year.

The Des Moines County Genealogical Society will be changing the format of the quarterly publication. We are working to make it more enjoyable to read. We will be publishing articles, photos and more information. We will be selling advertising space to help the society pay for the printing. We are hoping to make it look and read more like a magazine than just a folded pieces of paper.

2012 Monthly programs

February 7th

Newt Colburn: from Camera Land will give a presentation on preservation of family photos

March 5th

Kathy Waterhouse: from Des Moines County Recorders Office will show how to search and find documents from the courthouse

April 3rd

Monthly meeting will be held at the Des Moines County Recorders Office. You will have an opportunity to search records

 

Effective January 1, 2012 the research policy will be changing the cost.

The change to the policy will be as listed below.

Please provide us with a thorough description of your research problem and tell us how many hours of research you want performed at the rate of $7.50 per hour. Send the first $15 with your request with a self addressed and stamped envelope for communication. The $15.00 is non-refundable. Changes are effective January 1st 2012.
